The Rotman Research Institute at Baycrest is seeking a highly skilled MEG System Manager to join our team. As a key member of our research team, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the MEG Lab, ensuring the smooth functioning of our neuroimaging equipment and providing technical support to our researchers.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Performing daily maintenance of the MEG equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  • Securing permanent cooling of the MEG system, including daily recording of helium boiloff and level, planning refill cycles, and performing helium transfer from storage tanks.
  • Performing daily system performance tests to guarantee the operation of the MEG within its specifications.
  • Training MEG users in operating the MEG and related laboratory equipment.
  • Assisting MEG users in planning experimental setup and configuration of MEG recording.
  • Managing lab inventory and supplies for standard experimental procedures.
  • Managing a web-based system for lab scheduling and billing.
  • Participating in MEG data analysis and providing technical support to researchers.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in biomedical engineering, mechanical, electrical, or physical engineering, or related disciplines.
  • Two to three years of relevant professional experience in engineering technology, research laboratory, or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in human physiology research (e.g., MEG, EEG, EMG) is preferred.
  • Experience operating and troubleshooting electronic laboratory equipment.
  • Proficiency in understanding IT management, operating systems, and network administration.
  • Programming experience, preferably in Matlab and Python.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
