Job Summary:

The Rotman Research Institute at Baycrest is seeking a highly skilled MEG System Manager to join our team. As a key member of our research team, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the MEG Lab, ensuring the smooth functioning of our equipment and providing technical support to our researchers.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting of MEG equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  • Develop and implement procedures for helium management, including refill cycles and helium transfer from storage tanks.
  • Conduct daily system performance tests to guarantee the operation of the MEG within its specifications.
  • Provide training and technical support to researchers on operating the MEG and related laboratory equipment.
  • Assist researchers in planning experimental setup and configuration of MEG recording.
  • Manage acquired data, including data transfer, storage, and backup.
  • Participate in MEG data analysis and contribute to the development of new analysis techniques.
  • Manage lab inventory and supplies for standard experimental procedures.
  • Manage a web-based system for lab scheduling and billing.
  • Modify lab hardware as necessary to accommodate experiments.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in biomedical engineering, mechanical, electrical, or physical engineering, or a related field.
  • 2-3 years of relevant professional experience in engineering technology, research laboratory, or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in human physiology research, preferably with MEG, EEG, or EMG.
  • Experience operating and troubleshooting electronic laboratory equipment.
  • Proficiency in IT management, operating systems, and network administration.
  • Programming experience, preferably in Matlab and Python.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
