About the Role


This position plays a vital role in leading Intact Financial Corporation's external communications, focusing on media relations, public affairs, and strategic engagement. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing media inquiries, developing and executing public affairs strategies, and leading a team of individual contributors.


Key Responsibilities



  • Manage media relations for IFC in both French and English, responding to inquiries and pitching stories.
  • Develop and execute public affairs strategies and initiatives in Quebec and nationally.
  • Lead a team of individual contributors, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives and strategy.
  • Build and maintain relationships with internal business partners, colleagues, and external partners, including Quebec and national media.

Requirements



  • Minimum 7-10 years of experience working in media relations and external communications.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience leading and/or managing a team.
  • Strong writing and communication skills, with the ability to create alignment among multiple stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to multitask, manage multiple projects, and work efficiently with autonomy and flexibility.
  • Bilingualism (French - English) is required.

About the Team


The Corporate Communications team leads Intact Financial Corporation's internal and external communications, supporting IFC's business objectives and strategic roadmap. This includes enhancing employee engagement, protecting and promoting the IFC brand and reputation globally, elevating IFC's role in building resilient communities, and amplifying IFC's knowledge, expertise, and thought leadership in key markets.


The successful candidate will report to the Director of External Communications.
