Job Summary:

The Completion Specialist will oversee and install NOV Completion Tools equipment at customer job sites. The Completion Specialist will account for, caliper, and measure all equipment against job packets, well data, tallies, while organizing paperwork and helping customers with tool placements. Our Completion Specialist will also play an active part in customer sales and service activities. This includes speaking with customers and following up on sales leads and assisting in developing our customer base.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Job Preparation and Installation: Supervise all aspects of job preparation, tool assembly, deployment and installation ensuring 100% customer satisfaction.
  • Problem Identification and Communication: Identify possible problems in running equipment while communicating with the customer and NOV Operations.
  • Pre-Installation Checks: Ensure that all possible preparations have taken place, equipment is fit for use, and all pre-installation checks have been carried out, as well as ensure that all documentation is accurate and accounted for.
  • Installation and Maintenance: Oversee installation of all equipment at customer job sites and maintain appropriate contact with customer representative at the well-site.
  • Reporting and Documentation: Produce in-depth reports of all well-site activities prior to and during installation, accurately complete installation reports, schematics, and field tickets.
  • Technical Knowledge and Skills: Account for, caliper, and measure all NOV equipment against job specifications, perform hydraulic calculations including displacements, capacities, buoyancies, and pressures, and record on schematics and reports.
  • Availability and Flexibility: Demonstrate availability and be fit for work during on-call rotation and perform day-to-day shop activities when required.
Qualification Requirements:
  • Experience: Minimum of five years' experience in conventional completion, coil tools.
  • Technical Knowledge: Extensive technical and practical knowledge of downhole tools, liner hangers, packers, stage tools, annulus casing packers, and coil tools.
  • NOV Completion Tools Knowledge: Full understanding of NOV Completion Tools - operation, rebuild and teardown processes.
  • Wellbore Conditions and Problem Recognition: Evaluating wellbore conditions and recognizing potential problems prior to development.
  • Downhole Hydraulics: Understand the effects of downhole hydraulics and how it pertains to tool function and set up.
  • Calculations and Technical Skills: Ability to perform required calculations such as downhole hydraulics, displacements, tallies and tubing movements, and ability to read and understand engineering handbooks.
  • Software Skills: Must have experience with Microsoft Office applications, most notably Excel, Word, Outlook, Sharepoint, and One Drive.
  • Location: Live in the Grande Prairie area.
  • Physical Test and Driver's Abstract: Must submit to a Physical Test and have a Clean Driver's Abstract.

HSE Requirements:
  • Shop Environment Orientation: Complete shop environment orientation, including exits, fire extinguishers, first aid & eyewash stations, spill kits, and propane storage.
  • Physical Demands: Stand, walk, squat, bend, reach, and walk, as well as perform other physical demands as required.
  • Field Service Requirements: Meet all applicable Field Service on-site ticket requirements as per HSE Manager and client requirements.
  • Safety Leadership: Demonstrate strong safety leadership and a proven record of commitment to fulfilling all safety documentation requirements and duties.
  • PPE Training: Complete PPE training for possible noise exposure, mists/vapors, gloves, safety glasses, and steel-toed boots.
  • WHMIS Training: Complete WHMIS training.
