Job Summary

The Completion Specialist at NOV will oversee and install completion tools equipment at customer job sites. The Completion Specialist will account for, calibrate, and measure all equipment against job packets, well data, tallies, while organizing paperwork and helping customers with tool placements. Our Completion Specialist will also play an active part in customer sales and service activities, including speaking with customers and following up on sales leads and assisting in developing our customer base.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Job Preparation and Installation: Supervise all aspects of job preparation, tool assembly, deployment, and installation to ensure 100% customer satisfaction.
  2. Problem Identification and Communication: Identify possible problems in running equipment while communicating with the customer and NOV Operations.
  3. Pre-Installation Checks: Ensure that all possible preparations have taken place, equipment is fit for use, and all pre-installation checks have been carried out, as well as ensure that all documentation is accurate and accounted for.
  4. Installation and Maintenance: Oversee installation of all equipment at customer job sites and maintain equipment in good working condition.
  5. Customer Communication: Maintain appropriate contact with customer representative at the well-site.
  6. Reporting and Documentation: Produce in-depth reports of all well-site activities prior to and during installation.
  7. Equipment Accountability: Account for, calibrate, and measure all NOV equipment against job specifications.
  8. Hydraulic Calculations: Perform hydraulic calculations including displacements, capacities, buoyancies, and pressures, and record on schematics and reports.
  9. Installation Reports: Accurately complete installation reports, schematics, and field tickets.
  10. Availability and Flexibility: Demonstrate availability and be fit for work during on-call rotation.
  11. Shop Activities: Perform day-to-day shop activities when required.
Qualification Requirements
  1. Experience: Minimum of five years' experience in conventional completion, coil tools.
  2. Technical Knowledge: Extensive technical and practical knowledge of downhole tools, liner hangers, packers, stage tools, annulus casing packers, and coil tools.
  3. NOV Completion Tools Knowledge: Full understanding of NOV Completion Tools – operation, rebuild, and teardown processes.
  4. Wellbore Conditions: Evaluating wellbore conditions and recognizing potential problems prior to development.
  5. Downhole Hydraulics: Understand the effects of downhole hydraulics and how it pertains to tool function and set up.
  6. Calculations: Ability to perform required calculations such as downhole hydraulics, displacements, tallies, and tubing movements.
  7. Engineering Handbooks: Ability to read and understand engineering handbooks.
  8. Microsoft Office: Must have experience with Microsoft Office applications, most notably Excel, Word, Outlook, Sharepoint, and One Drive.
  9. Location: Live in the Grande Prairie area.
  10. Physical Test: Must submit to a Physical Test.

HSE Requirements
  1. Shop Environment Orientation: Shop environment orientation (exits, fire extinguishers, first aid & eyewash stations, spill kits, propane storage) and yard environment (building locations, processes).
  2. Physical Demands: Standing, walking, squatting, bending, reaching, and walking (further details to be reviewed on JHA).
  3. Field Service: All applicable Field Service on-site ticket requirement as per HSE Manager and client requirements.
  4. Safety Leadership: Strong safety leadership and a proven record of commitment to fulfilling all safety documentation requirements and duties.
  5. PPE Training: PPE training for possible noise exposure, mists/vapors, gloves, safety glasses, and steel-toed boots.
  6. WHMIS Training: WHMIS training.
