Safety Manager Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Safety Manager to lead our safety initiatives across a diverse range of civil construction projects. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for guiding a team of safety professionals, ensuring safety protocols meet the highest standards across multiple sites.

About the Role:

As a Safety Manager, you will be responsible for:

  • Developing and implementing safety programs across varied work sites.
  • Communicating safety requirements clearly to diverse teams.
  • Providing guidance on safety best practices in civil construction environments.
  • Collaborating with senior safety leaders to adapt safety measures to changing project needs.
Requirements:
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and manage a dynamic team.
  • In-depth knowledge of OH&S legislation and civil construction safety requirements.
  • Experience in Heavy Civil Industry, specifically Oil&Gas, Mining and/or HydroElectric.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • 5+ years of experience in a safety management role in heavy civil construction.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office and strong technical writing abilities.
  • A diploma or certificate in Occupational Health and Safety is preferred; a trades background is a bonus.
  • CRSP certification an asset.
