We are currently seeking a highly motivated and talented individual to join our Protein Science team as a Scientific Research Assistant for an 8-month term. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in life sciences and be eager to learn and contribute to cutting-edge scientific research.

The successful candidate will play a key role in optimizing and executing high-throughput characterization assays, gaining valuable experience in a dynamic, collaborative research environment.

In this on-site position, based in Vancouver, you will receive guidance and support from experienced team members within Protein Science. You will have the opportunity to work on real-world projects and contribute to the advancement of antibody-based medicines from target to clinic.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Learning and conducting high throughput characterization of antibodies, bi- and multi-specifics using various analytical and biophysical techniques
  • Supporting the assessment of developability properties of hundreds of antibodies through characterization assays, such as non-specific binding ELISA, self-interaction assays, analytical size exclusion chromatography (aSEC), and hydrophobic interaction chromatography (aHIC)
  • Collaborating with teammates to troubleshoot, analyze, interpret, and communicate data effectively
  • Growing your technical expertise by gaining hands-on experience with advanced methodologies and contributing to cutting-edge scientific research in a dynamic and collaborative environment
  • Participating in team meetings to share updates and insights on ongoing experiments and projects
  • Assisting in refining experimental protocols and performing data analysis using relevant software and tools

Requirements:

  • Currently enrolled in a BSc program in Biophysics, Biochemistry, Biology, Biotechnology, Structural Biology, or a related life sciences field
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to thrive in a collaborative, cross-functional team environment
  • Eager to learn and develop new technical skills while contributing to impactful scientific research
  • Prior hands-on wet lab experience is an asset

AbCellera offers a competitive salary range of $39,600 - $44,400 per year, commensurate with your education and job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
