About UsHamilton Health Sciences is the regional centre of excellence in cardiovascular and stroke care, serving as the largest adult cardiac surgical centre in Ontario. Our hospital offers a wide range of cardiac surgeries, including complex structural heart reconstructions and minimally invasive procedures.
As a critical member of our multidisciplinary team, the Perfusion Specialist will work collaboratively to provide best patient care, operating the heart-lung machine and electronic monitoring equipment associated with open heart and cardiovascular surgery.
Key Responsibilities- Operate and maintain heart-lung machines and electronic monitoring equipment
- Support our Provincial ECMO program
- Assist with the care and maintenance of equipment and supplies
- Prepare and package supplies related to heart-lung machines and monitoring equipment
To be successful in this role, you must have:
- Certification with the Canadian Society of Clinical Perfusion or American Board of Cardiovascular Perfusion
- Graduate of an accredited program in Cardiovascular Perfusion Technology
- Demonstrated excellence in communication skills and working within a multi-discipline team environment
The salary for this position is estimated to be around $120,000 - $150,000 per year, depending on experience. In addition to a competitive salary, we offer a comprehensive benefits package, including health and dental insurance, retirement savings plan, and opportunities for professional growth and development.
Work EnvironmentThis is a full-time position that requires days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays, as well as standby/call-back shifts. To receive these incentives, the perfusionist commits to continued employment in the Perfusionist position with Hamilton Health Sciences for sixty (60) full months.
