The Perfusionist is a critical role on the multi-disciplinary surgical team, working collaboratively to enable best patient care. The Perfusionist operates the heart-lung machine and electronic monitoring equipment associated with open heart and cardiovascular surgery. They also support our Provincial ECMO program, consisting of both VA and VV support. They assist with the care and maintenance of present or acquired equipment and supplies, prepares and packages supplies pertaining to heart lung machine and monitoring equipment and performs other such duties as may be assigned.
Qualifications
1. Certified with the Canadian Society of Clinical Perfusion and/or American Board of Cardiovascular Perfusion
2. Graduate of an accredited program in Cardiovascular Perfusion Technology
3. Demonstrated excellence in communication skills and working within a multi-discipline team environment
