About the Role

We are seeking a talented Junior UI Designer to join our team at Upanup. As a Junior UI Designer, you will play a key role in creating accessible, professional, and user-friendly website designs for our growing client base.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the design of website interfaces, components, and layouts under the guidance of senior designers and in consultation with developers and/or the UX Director.
  • Contribute to internal tasks and projects under the guidance of senior designers and/or the UX Director.
  • Assist with usability testing, including facilitating user testing sessions and contributing to documented analysis on client projects.
  • Participate in internal and client reviews, providing support to the project team.
Requirements
  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in a design-related field or equivalent experience.
  • 1 to 2 years of experience in a professional design environment.
  • Experience using Figma and/or Adobe Creative Cloud.
  • A portfolio of work demonstrating a working knowledge of modern UI design.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience using or designing for content management systems such as Drupal or WordPress.
  • Experience writing HTML and CSS.
  • Freelance work experience.
  • Previous work experience in municipal government or utilities sectors.
  • Experience using assistive technology.
What We Offer
  • A permanent full-time position with health benefits starting after three months.
  • Three weeks of paid vacation.
  • A starting salary of $50,000 to $55,000 commensurate with experience.
