About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Junior UI Designer to join our team at Upanup. As a Junior UI Designer, you will play a key role in creating accessible, professional, and user-friendly website designs for our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist senior designers in the design of website interfaces, components, and layouts
  • Contribute to internal tasks and projects, working closely with senior designers and the UX Director
  • Participate in usability testing, including facilitating user testing sessions and contributing to documented analysis on client projects
  • Support the project team in internal and client reviews
Requirements
  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in a design-related field or equivalent experience
  • 1 to 2 years of experience in a professional design environment
  • Experience using Figma and/or Adobe Creative Cloud
  • A portfolio of work demonstrating a working knowledge of modern UI design
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience using or designing for content management systems such as Drupal or WordPress
  • Experience writing HTML and CSS
  • Freelance work experience
  • Previous work experience in municipal government or utilities sectors
  • Experience using assistive technology
What We Offer
  • A permanent full-time position with health benefits starting after three months
  • Three weeks of paid vacation
  • A starting salary of $50,000 to $55,000 commensurate with experience
Work Environment

We offer a hybrid framework that includes working in an office for at least 8 hours per week, with the option to work from home for the remaining hours.
