We are seeking a highly skilled Data Engineering Leader to join our team at Amazon Data Services Canada, Inc. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for mentoring and leading engineers, guiding them towards best data development practices, and defining the priorities and vision of the group.
You will collaborate with users around the globe to build data systems that simplify bringing new models to customers and enhance the visibility into our underlying modeling process.
Key Responsibilities- Design and implement data systems that meet the needs of our customers
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and deploy data products
- Mentor and lead engineers to ensure they have the skills and knowledge needed to succeed
- Define and prioritize the technical vision for the team
- Ensure data quality and integrity across all data systems
- 6+ years of experience in data engineering, database engineering, business intelligence, or business analytics
- Knowledge of professional software engineering best practices
- Experience with modern scripting or programming languages such as Python, Java, Scala, or NodeJS
- Experience building data products incrementally and integrating and managing data sets from multiple sources
- Experience providing technical leadership and mentoring other engineers
- Familiarity with data architectures built on AWS services such as Redshift, Glue, S3, and Step Functions
- Experience with big data technologies such as Hadoop, Hive, Spark, and EMR
- Knowledge of carbon accounting protocols such as GHG Protocol
