About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and innovative Onsite Medical Representative to join our team at Amazon Canada Fulfillment Services, ULC. As a key member of our Workplace Health and Safety team, you will play a critical role in promoting a safe and healthy work environment for our employees.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide first aid and medical care to employees as needed, including triage, prompt treatment, and referral to outside medical providers when necessary.
  • Minimize the risk of injury to employees through awareness, education, and proactive engagement.
  • Maintain accurate records of care provided to employees.
  • Develop and implement first aid care plans for employees recovering from injuries, focusing on injury improvement and self-care instructions.
  • Manage workers' compensation and return-to-work processes for employees with work-related injuries.
  • Provide daily activity logs and end-of-shift reports.
  • Engage with employees and managers on the warehouse floor to coach on observed at-risk work habits.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly environment, ensuring appropriate medical supply inventory is maintained.
  • Participate in special projects and ad-hoc tasks as assigned.
  • Will be trained to teach First Aid/CPR/AED certification classes.
  • Work flexible shifts, including days, nights, and weekends.
Requirements
  • High school or equivalent diploma.
  • Valid Provincial Primary Care Paramedic Certification from the Ministry of Health AND/OR the Canadian Organization of Paramedic Regulators, or equivalent.
  • Current valid Emergency Medical Technician Basic Certification from the Department of Health AND/OR the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT), or equivalent.
  • Licensed Practical Nurse from the Ministry of Health AND/OR the Provincial College of Nurses AND/OR Department of Health, or equivalent.
  • Registered Practical Nurse from the Ministry of Health AND/OR the Provincial College of Nurses AND/OR Department of Health, or equivalent.
  • Military Medical Technician (Canada), Combat Medic (USA), Field Medic (USA), Healthcare Specialist (USA), Hospital Corpsman (USN), Aerospace Medical Service Technician (USAF), or equivalent.
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited academic institution in Exercise Sciences, Exercise Physiology, Health Sciences, or Kinesiology.
  • Valid card evidencing successful completion of standard first aid with CPR/AED level A or C from a Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB) approved certifying authority.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Certified to teach first aid, CPR, and AED training from Heart and Stroke Foundation or Canadian Red Cross.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Experience with an industrial wellness program.
  • Passion for promoting health and wellness.
  • Experience coaching on body mechanics.
  • Experience managing musculoskeletal disorders.
  • Experience in ergonomics.
  • Experience with federal and province-specific regulations.
  • Experience with Workers Compensation.
  • Proficient in digital recordkeeping.
