Job Summary

This position is responsible for providing exceptional food and beverage service to casino guests in a fast-paced environment. As a dual role, the Lead Beverage Server will work primarily as a Beverage Server with light supervisory duties in the absence of a manager or supervisor.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide beverage service following established standards of service
  • May provide limited food service from time to time
  • Responsible for handling various financial transactions involving beverage service to guests
  • Clean and bus sections
  • Responsible for communicating any potential issues or concerns regarding responsible beverage service
  • First point of contact for customer escalations, including assessing situations for voiding or comping a meal
  • Respond to basic team member questions/issues
  • Responsible for checking the phone for sick calls and may be required to call in replacements
  • Responsible for assigning sections to servers, bartenders, and hosts (if applicable)
  • Responsible for basic shift training and orientation for new team members from time to time
  • Responsible for organizing early outs if necessary
  • Responsible for ensuring basic opening or closing duties/checklist is completed, following up with co-workers if necessary
  • Deliver an exceptional entertainment experience to internal and external guests to ensure a memorable experience
  • Develop and cultivate strong working relationships with all stakeholders: guests, ownership, team members, vendors, and regulators
  • Ensure compliance with licensing laws, health and safety, and other statutory regulations
  • Perform other duties as assigned or directed

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • Proven leadership skills and qualities
  • Minimum 1-year food and beverage serving experience in either a bar or restaurant setting
  • Cash handling experience required
  • Point of sales experience required; Micros knowledge is an asset
  • Strong sales and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize
  • Ability to stand and carry a tray for the duration of a shift
  • Works quickly and efficiently under pressure in a busy, fast-paced environment
  • Ability to successfully obtain a Gaming License

Work Environment Considerations

  • Regular food and beverage environment; standing and walking for long periods of time; exposure to heat, cold, steam, noise, odors; lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, stretching, bending; some exposure to fumes, smoke, chemicals; risk of minor cuts and burns, may have non-traditional work hours, schedule flexibility is required
