Job Title: Assistant Trainmaster

Canadian Pacific Railway (CPKC) is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Assistant Trainmaster to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient movement of trains within our road territory and yard-terminal.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Coordinate train movements within the yard and mainline, ensuring compliance with our Local Service Operating Plan and Operating Plan.
  2. Develop and standardize processes related to train operations, including arrival, classification, building, inspecting, and dispatching.
  3. Provide leadership and accountability for safety, service, productivity, and financial metrics.
  4. Lead trains and engines operating employees, promoting a culture of safety and rule compliance.
  5. Occasionally operate trains, maintaining certifications and licenses as required.
  6. Assist with crew transportation to and from trains.
Requirements:
  1. Previous railway experience as a conductor, with Locomotive Engineer qualification an asset.
  2. 2 years' supervisory experience in logistics or an operational environment preferred.
  3. Availability to work all types of shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays in all weather conditions.
  4. Strong leadership presence, with a drive for career advancement.
  5. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to provide clear instructions and directions.
  6. Valid driver's license, required.
  7. Proficient in MS Office Outlook, Word, and Excel.
