Job Title: English Teacher Position at Moose Cree Education Authority

Job Summary: We are seeking a qualified English teacher to join our team at the Delores D. Echum Composite School, a First Nations school located in Northern Ontario. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching English and Social Sciences to students in Grades 7-12.

Responsibilities:

  • Teach English and Social Sciences to students in Grades 7-12
  • Develop and implement curriculum to meet the needs of a range of learning styles and abilities
  • Deliver individualized education plans within the classroom
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to achieve school goals
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching practices

Requirements:

  • Current registration with the Ontario College of Teachers
  • Minimum Bachelor of Education Degree
  • Qualifications in Secondary English/Social Sciences
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a multicultural setting and demonstrate knowledge and sensitivity to the traditions and aspirations of First Nations people
