We are seeking a dedicated Part-Time Youth Worker to join our Personalized Community Care Programs in Lethbridge. As a vital member of our team, you will play a key role in enhancing the lives of youth with significant disabilities.

About McMan Youth, Family and Community Services Association

McMan South is a non-profit organization providing essential social services to communities in southern Alberta. Our mission is to empower individuals by cultivating professional relationships and offering access to opportunities through diverse programs and staff.

Your Role as a Youth Worker

You will be responsible for:

  • Establishing helping relationships with youth and their support networks.
  • Supporting a positive team environment.
  • Cultivating adaptive functioning, social skills, recreational opportunities, self-regulation skills, life-skills, and community connections for youth with significant disabilities.
  • Demonstrating knowledge of various intervention resources and methods.
  • Providing guidance to address problem situations and behaviors.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you should possess:

  • A relevant diploma or degree in early childhood education, disability studies, child and youth care, or human services.
  • At least six months' experience in family and youth work, with two years' experience preferred.
  • Strong counselling, program planning, organizational, and communication skills.
  • A current Standard First Aid CPR Level C Certificate or CSA Standard Z1210-17 Intermediate First Aid Certificate.
  • A Clear Child Intervention Record Check and Police Information Check with vulnerable sector dated within the past six months.
  • A valid Class 5 Driver's License, Driver's Abstract, and use of a reliable vehicle with $2M Third Party Liability insurance.
