Job Description

The role of the Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) at Extendicare Canada Inc. is to provide high-quality nursing care to residents, ensuring their physical, emotional, and social needs are met.

Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate LPN to join our team in providing exceptional care to our residents. As an LPN at Extendicare, you will have the opportunity to work with a dedicated team of healthcare professionals who share your passion for delivering top-notch patient care.

Responsibilities
  • Assess patients/residents and develop, implement, review, and evaluate care plans
  • Monitor health, note changes in condition, and assess need for referral to doctors
  • Process and implement physicians' orders
  • Ensure care is provided with established nursing standards and principles
Requirements
  • Appropriate current certificate of competence from the Approved Institutions for the province
  • Registration or eligible for registration with the Approved Institutions for the province
  • Previous managerial experience in long-term care or community homecare preferred
  • Experience dealing with the cognitively impaired
  • Comprehensive knowledge of nursing and healthcare practices
  • Demonstrated commitment to working with seniors
  • Ability to present information clearly and effectively verbally and in writing
  • Organizational, planning, time management, and multi-tasking skills
