Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Livestock Animal Care Specialist to join our team at El-Tigre Farms. This is a permanent, full-time opportunity with a salary range of $60,000-$80,000 per year.

About the Role:

  • Diagnose and address livestock health issues in a hog management environment
  • Handle and care for animals, ensuring their well-being and safety
  • Monitor animal health and implement preventive measures to maintain quality control
  • Perform livestock feeding and pig littering activities, including castration and identification of piglets
  • Assist with weaning and maintain quality control records
  • Set and monitor water lines, air flow, and temperature in barns and pens

Requirements:

  • Secondary school graduation certificate
  • 1-2 years of experience in livestock or swine husbandry
  • First Aid Certificate
  • Familiarity with automated manure handling and storage systems
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
