We are seeking a skilled and experienced Swine Farming Specialist to join our team at El-Tigre Farms. In this role, you will be responsible for the health and well-being of our swine herd.

About the Job

This is a permanent position that requires 40 hours of work per week. You must have a secondary (high) school graduation certificate and one to two years of experience in the field or equivalent experience.

The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, as well as strong organizational and time management skills. They must also be able to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities
  • Diagnose and treat livestock health issues
  • Handle and monitor animal health
  • Perform livestock feeding and pig littering activities
  • Maintain quality control and production records
  • Set and monitor water lines, air flow, and temperature in barns, pens, and chicken coops
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • One to two years of experience in the field or equivalent experience
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Working Conditions

This is a physically demanding job that requires standing for extended periods, walking, and bending, crouching, and kneeling. The work environment is dusty, hot, noisy, with odours, and wet/damp.

Benefits

We offer a competitive salary range of $60,000 - $80,000 per year, based on experience, plus benefits including dental plan, healthcare plan, group insurance benefits, and pension plan.
