**Position Title**:
**Makita Sales Specialist**
**Key Objectives**:
- Drive sales of Makita tools, accessories, and related products.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with contractors, retail customers, and key decision-makers.
- Promote Wm Dyck & Sons as the go-to location for Makita tools in the region.
- Develop strategies to convert customers from competing brands.
- Collaborate with the marketing and sales teams to create loyalty programs that engage contractors and enhance Makita’s presence at Wm Dycks.
**Primary Responsibilities**:
- Act as the main point of contact for all things Makita, ensuring expert knowledge on Makita tools and accessories.
- Offer tailored recommendations to customers and contractors to meet their tool needs.
- Conduct product demonstrations and highlight the benefits and features of Makita tools, showcasing why they outperform competitors like Milwaukee.
- Assist in the development of exclusive pricing offers and tool bundles that increase Makita sales.
- Collaborate with our "Mac Force" program to create a sense of exclusivity and loyalty among contractors.
**Relationship Building**:
- Maintain and expand relationships with contractors, ensuring they feel valued and supported in choosing Makita as their primary tool brand.
- Leverage these relationships to drive not only Makita sales but also other building material purchases from Wm Dycks.
- Identify opportunities to onboard new contractors to the Makita tool program, offering exclusive deals, swag, and incentives.
**Brand Advocacy**:
- Serve as a Makita ambassador during in-store events, pop-up shops, or trade shows, ensuring the brand is represented as a premium yet accessible option.
- Provide ongoing feedback to the management team about customer preferences, market trends, and Makita’s performance in comparison to competing brands.
- Organize and host product knowledge sessions or tool try-out events, encouraging customers to engage with Makita tools in a hands-on environment.
**Sales Strategy and Reporting**:
- Work with the marketing team to develop sales initiatives focused on Makita’s value propositions, highlighting reliability, durability, and innovation.
- Track and report on sales performance, identifying areas for growth and improvement. Look for ways to upsell accessories, batteries, and tool bundles.
- Analyze sales data to identify high-demand products and adjust stock levels or marketing campaigns accordingly.
- Monitor Makita’s competition and provide strategies for staying competitive in pricing, offerings, and customer engagement.
**Performance Metrics**:
- Increase in Makita tool sales and market share.
- Number of contractors converted from competing brands to Makita.
- Customer engagement levels through loyalty programs and exclusive events.
- Success of in-store and event-based sales campaigns (e.g., pop-up shops, contractor events).
- Sales growth in complementary categories (batteries, accessories, and tools).

**About Us**:
Wm. Dyck & Sons is a family owned business that was founded in the early 1950’s by William W. Dyck and is currently owned by Carl Fast, grandson of Mr. Wm. Dyck. The company continues to grow, and in 2015, opened a 9000 sqft Flooring Centre on the same property as their retail store and Cabinet Centre. They have also added a distribution center just outside of Niverville to handle all building material deliveries. The business serves customers in communities around Niverville, across Manitoba and into Ontario.
