We are currently seeking a Registered Practical Nurse to join our Dialysis Services team, dedicated to upholding our mission of Kindness, Accountability, Respect, and Teamwork.
Key Responsibilities: The ideal candidate will carry out the responsibilities associated with the role of a Registered Practical Nurse within the Dialysis Services. The Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) is responsible for providing general Hemodialysis nursing care to patients classified as less complex, demonstrating predictable outcomes and lower risks in hemodialysis. Daily tasks will be performed in accordance with the Practice Standards set by the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO) and the approved care standards of the organization.Required Qualifications:
Valid Certificate of Registration as a Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario A minimum of two years of hemodialysis experience within the past five years At least five years of nursing experience in a medical setting Nephrology certification required or enrollment with a commitment to complete within three years of employment Completion of vascular access training modules from the Ontario Renal Network Current BCLS certification is mandatory Management of Aggressive Behavior training or equivalent is preferred Gentle Persuasive Approach (GPA) certification is preferred Current ACLS certification or completion within three months of employment is preferred Proficiency in initiating and maintaining IVs Strong physical assessment skills are essential Medication Administration certification and patient assessment course required for RPNs who graduated prior to 2005 Demonstrated exemplary clinical practice within an inter-professional team and the ability to collaborate effectively as part of a team Compensation: $36.281-$37.049
