Emergency Department Registered Nurse

We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our team in the Emergency Department at Headwaters Health Care Centre. As a Registered Nurse, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and working collaboratively with our interdisciplinary team to deliver exceptional patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities- Provide general and specialized nursing duties and work assignments on a daily basis according to the standards of Nursing Practice of the College of Nurses of Ontario, and approved standards of care of the Corporation.
- Work independently under medical directives and make critical thinking decisions to ensure the best possible patient care.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized patient care plans.
- Participate in ongoing education and professional development to stay current with best practices and advancements in emergency nursing.
- Contribute to a positive and supportive work environment by promoting a culture of kindness, passion, courage, and teamwork.
- Current certification with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
- Current certification in CTAS training/experience (preferred).
- 1-2 years recent Emergency Room experience (preference will be given to those candidates with Emergency Department experience).
- CTAS Triage Certified in 6 months (preferred).
- Medical Directives certification in 6 months.
- ACLS certification and experience.
- CPR certification.
- Delegated Controlled Act – Defibrillation.
- IV Therapy initiation and maintenance (Parenteral Therapy).
- Trauma Management course (TNCC) or equivalent (preferred).
- Coronary Care course – Level 1 or equivalent.
- Critical Care or Emergency Room courses (asset).
- Able to work independently under medical directives.
- Experience with pediatrics (preferred).
- PALS or ENPC course (preferred).
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Demonstrated critical thinking decision making skills.
- Acceptable performance and attendance records.
