We are seeking a skilled Field Claims Resolution Specialist to join our Property Large Loss team at Intact Financial Corporation. This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned claims professional to utilize their expertise in managing and resolving complex commercial property claims.
About the RoleAs a Field Claims Resolution Specialist, you will be responsible for handling large and complex commercial property claims through all distribution channels. The types of losses may include Commercial Property, Energy, Equipment Breakdown, and additional Specialty Claims. Your primary goal will be to manage, investigate, analyze, negotiate, and resolve these claims efficiently and effectively.
- Manage, investigate, analyze, negotiate, and resolve large and complex commercial property claims with exposures over $1M or involving specialized kinds of loss.
- Engage and manage internal and external counsel, consultants, adjusters, accountants, appraisers, and engineers to confirm coverage, determine liability, and assess damages.
- Mentor, guide, and provide technical advice to regional file handlers to ensure consistent and effective claims handling and support long-term succession planning.
- Train colleagues on complex claims handling.
- Work with Underwriting, Loss Prevention, and other stakeholders to identify potential risks, hazards, and trends, sharing feedback and lessons learned.
- Provide excellent customer service to brokers, customers, and colleagues.
- Deliver key performance indicators related to loss development, loss adjustment expenses, claims leakage control, and expense management.
- Leverage your expertise in a creative, continuous improvement environment to support best practice operations.
The ideal candidate will have 10+ years of experience handling direct large and complex commercial property claims, with appropriate knowledge of relevant regulatory and legal requirements applicable to the position. A valid driver's license and bilingualism (French/English) are also assets.
