Job Title: Executive Chef Assistant

We are seeking an experienced Executive Chef Assistant to join our team at Montana's. As a key member of our culinary staff, you will be responsible for supporting the Head Chef in the preparation and presentation of meals.

About the Role:
  • This is a permanent position working 35 hours per week.
  • No degree, certificate, or diploma is required; however, relevant experience is essential.
  • A minimum of one year to less than two years of experience in a similar role is preferred.
Responsibilities:
  1. Assist the Head Chef in preparing complete meals or individual dishes and foods.
  2. Prepare dishes for customers with food allergies or intolerances under the supervision of the Head Chef.
  3. Conduct regular inspections of kitchens and food service areas to ensure cleanliness and adherence to health and safety standards.
  4. Train kitchen staff and helpers on proper food preparation and handling techniques.
  5. Order necessary supplies and equipment for kitchen operations.
  6. Supervise kitchen staff and helpers during busy periods.
  7. Maintain inventory records of food, supplies, and equipment.
  8. Clean kitchen and work areas to maintain a clean and safe environment.
  9. Recruit and hire additional kitchen staff as needed.
  10. Assist the Head Chef in managing kitchen operations, including menu planning and implementation.
Requirements:
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Physically demanding role requiring standing for extended periods.
  • Strong attention to detail to ensure high-quality food presentation.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively train and supervise staff.
  • Judgement and initiative to make decisions and take action in challenging situations.
  • Organized and reliable with strong time management skills.
  • A team player with a positive attitude and willingness to learn.
