About the Opportunity

The City of St. Albert is seeking skilled Theatre Technicians to join our team in the technical operation of The Arden Theatre. As a Theatre Technician, you will be responsible for providing technical support for events and productions, including lighting, sound, and staging.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the setup, operation, and maintenance of technical equipment and systems
  • Collaborate with production teams to ensure smooth event execution
  • Provide technical support for live performances and events
  • Assist with the safety and security of performers, patrons, staff, and volunteers
  • Provide excellent customer service to internal and external clients

Requirements

  • Minimum 2-year technical theatre program or equivalent from an accredited institution
  • 2 years of theatre/event/festival experience
  • Standard First Aid, Fall arrest, Elevated work platform, and Forklift certifications are considered an asset
  • Strong understanding of industry best practices and technological advancements
  • Valid class 5 drivers' license is preferred
  • Ability to physically lift up to 50 pounds, bend, stand, and walk for long periods of time in a variety of weather conditions

Working Conditions

  • Casual hours dependent on event bookings
  • $24.50 to $29.84 per hour based on qualifications and experience
