Theatre Technician

The City of St. Albert is seeking a skilled Theatre Technician to join our team. As a key member of our technical operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth execution of events and productions at The Arden Theatre.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assist with the technical aspects of event and production support, including lighting, sound, and staging.
• Collaborate with production teams to ensure successful events and productions.
• Perform organizational functions related to the technical aspects of production, including acting as the technical liaison for various venues and assisting with the maintenance of production equipment.
Requirements:
• Minimum 2-year technical theatre program or equivalent from an accredited institution or 2 years of theatre/event/festival experience.
• Competency in all elements of technical theatre, including lighting, sound, and staging.
• Standard First Aid, Fall arrest, Elevated work platform, and Forklift certifications are considered an asset.
• Strong understanding of industry best practices and technological advancements, including Live Audio, Theatrical Lighting, and video distribution systems.
• Valid class 5 drivers' license is preferred.
• Ability to physically lift up to 50 pounds, bend, stand, and walk for long periods of time in a variety of weather conditions.
