About the Opportunity
The City of St. Albert is seeking skilled Theatre Technicians to join our team in the technical operation of The Arden Theatre. As a Theatre Technician, you will be responsible for providing technical support for events and productions, including lighting, sound, and staging.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the setup, operation, and maintenance of technical equipment and systems
- Collaborate with production teams to ensure smooth event execution
- Provide technical support for live performances and events
- Assist with the safety and security of performers, patrons, staff, and volunteers
- Provide excellent customer service to internal and external clients
Requirements
- Minimum 2-year technical theatre program or equivalent from an accredited institution
- 2 years of theatre/event/festival experience
- Standard First Aid, Fall arrest, Elevated work platform, and Forklift certifications are considered an asset
- Strong understanding of industry best practices and technological advancements
- Valid class 5 drivers' license is preferred
- Ability to physically lift up to 50 pounds, bend, stand, and walk for long periods of time in various weather conditions
Working Conditions
- Casual hours dependent on event bookings
- $24.50 to $29.84 per hour based on qualifications and experience
