Job Opportunity

The City of St. Albert is seeking skilled Theatre Technicians to join our team. As a Theatre Technician, you will be responsible for the technical operation of The Arden Theatre, including event and production support, lighting, sound, and staging.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with the maintenance of production equipment and ensure good production quality.
  • Act as the technical liaison for various venues and assist with the setup and operation of equipment.
  • Manage and direct the technical portion of live performances and events, ensuring the safety and security of performers, patrons, staff, and volunteers.
  • Collaborate with internal and external clients, including staff, user groups, media, artists, agents, public, and volunteers.
Requirements
  • Minimum 2-year technical theatre program or equivalent from an accredited institution or 2 years of theatre/event/festival experience.
  • Competency in all elements of technical theatre, including lighting, sound, and staging.
  • Standard First Aid, Fall arrest, Elevated work platform, and Forklift certifications are considered an asset.
  • A valid class 5 drivers' licence is preferred.
  • Ability to physically lift up to 50 pounds, bend, stand, and walk for long periods of time in a variety of weather conditions.
Compensation

$24.50 to $29.84 per hour based on qualifications and experience.
