Job Title: Land Use Planning Coordinator

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Land Use Planning Coordinator to join our team at the Kativik Regional Government. As a key member of our Renewable Resources, Environment, Lands and Parks Department, you will play a crucial role in providing training and technical assistance to municipal employees and elected members of the Northern Villages on land use planning issues.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and schedule the work of the land use planning section, ensuring timely completion of projects and tasks.
  • Coordinate the production, revision, and implementation of master plans and zoning bylaws, including public consultations and special projects.
  • Collaborate with the KRG communication department to develop communication tools, including a web platform for permit issuance.
  • Assist in the preparation and management of budgets related to land use planning.
  • Monitor project timetables and ensure compliance with project deadlines.
  • Ensure implementation and follow-up to achieve the section's annual objectives.
  • Perform other related duties as requested by the Assistant Director.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Urban or Land Use Planning, or a related field.
  • Minimum of five years of relevant work experience in municipal or regional land use planning.
  • Minimum of three years of experience in managing and supervising a multidisciplinary team.
  • Solid leadership skills and demonstrated resourcefulness.
  • Ability to work with Microsoft Office applications and ArcGIS.
  • Strong planning and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Written and oral working knowledge of at least two of the following languages: Inuktitut, English, and French.
