Salary

$48,750 per year, paid bi-weekly, plus benefits and perks.

Job Description

We are seeking a qualified Early Childhood Educator - Child Development Specialist to join our team at the North York St. Gabriel YMCA. In this role, you will be responsible for:

  • Planning and implementing age-appropriate activities and programs that promote children's learning and development;
  • Developing and maintaining relationships with children, families, and staff to ensure a supportive and inclusive environment;
  • Monitoring and reporting on children's progress, identifying areas of strength and weakness, and developing strategies to address any challenges;
  • Collaborating with colleagues to develop and implement policies, procedures, and best practices that support high-quality childcare services;
  • Participating in ongoing professional development to enhance your knowledge, skills, and qualifications as an Early Childhood Educator;

Required Skills and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you will require:

  • A diploma in Early Childhood Education (ECE) from a recognized post-secondary institution;
  • Registration with the College of Early Childhood Educators (CECE) or proof that registration is in process;
  • Minimum six months' experience working with young children in a childcare setting;
  • Valid Standard First Aid and CPR Level C certification;
  • Up-to-date immunizations required by Public Health;
  • Ability to work outdoors for at least two hours daily, year-round;
  • Flexibility and adaptability regarding assigned working hours;
  • Commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and building a sense of belonging;
  • Legally entitled to work in Canada;
