Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Early Childhood Educator to join our team at Tiny Hoppers Park Lawn.

About the Job:

This is a permanent position working 35 hours per week in a child care centre located in an urban area.

The ideal candidate will have a College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years, with 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in early childhood education.

The salary for this role is estimated to be around $45,000 - $60,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement high-quality child-care programs that support the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children.
  • Supervise staff, trainees, or volunteers to ensure a safe and nurturing environment.
  • Lead activities by telling or reading stories, teaching songs, and taking children to local points of interest.
  • Order supplies and equipment to maintain a well-stocked and organized learning environment.
  • Assist early childhood educators or supervisors in maintaining accurate records.
  • Encourage children to express creativity through various media, including art, dramatic play, music, and physical activity.
  • Guide and assist children in developing proper eating, dressing, and toilet habits.
  • Observe children for signs of potential learning or behavioural problems and prepare reports for parents, guardians, or supervisors.
Requirements:
  • Member of the College of Early Childhood Educators (CECE)
  • Early Childhood Education (ECE) Certificate
  • Immunization records
  • Tuberculosis test
  • Vulnerable sector check
