Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Data Protection Director to lead our Information Security department and oversee the cross-functional and enterprise-wide data protection function. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive data protection strategy that aligns with Entrust's business goals and objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a data protection strategy that aligns with Entrust's business goals and objectives.
  • Provide leadership and oversight for the cross-functional and enterprise-wide data protection program.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional groups and leadership to identify and classify sensitive data.
  • Own the enterprise data protection strategy, policies, and standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional groups and leadership to ensure sensitive data is appropriately tagged and protected.
  • Continuously evaluate the data loss program for efficacy.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on data protection standards in responding to due diligence requests and managing data loss incidents.
  • Lead cross-functional team members through an indirect reporting relationship.
  • Review, prioritize, and recommend data protection improvements.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or demonstrated significant expertise in data protection through practical experience.
  • 10+ years of progressive and relevant work experience, with demonstrated leadership skills leading diverse information security teams/functions.
  • One or more relevant professional certifications (e.g. CISSP, CISM, CISA, SSCP, CEH, etc.).
  • Understanding of legal, regulatory, and/or customer requirements for data protection.
  • Familiarity and working knowledge of data protection technologies and solutions.
  • Ability to identify and assess potential risks to data and implement appropriate measures to mitigate them.
  • Ability to communicate data protection policies and procedures effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a multi-disciplined environment.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills combined with the ability to work on multiple concurrent tasks with demanding deadlines.
