Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Field Service Technician to join our team at TRUMPF. As a Field Service Technician, you will be responsible for installing, demonstrating, maintaining, and troubleshooting TRUMPF CNC machines, laser machines, and connected automation and storage systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Install and maintain TRUMPF equipment with high quality and efficiency.
- Demonstrate and train customers in the use and repair of TRUMPF machines in a complete and organized manner.
- Travel extensively, up to 100%, to regional, national, and international locations to provide technical support.
- Complete basic retrofits, software installations, and customer training.
- Troubleshoot and remedy complex technical issues.
- Work independently to resolve technical problems and maintain good relationships with customers.
- Use relevant electrical measuring tools efficiently for troubleshooting.
- Submit required weekly reports in a complete and organized manner.
- Assist other Field Engineers as directed.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay up-to-date with existing and new products.
Requirements
- Two years of technical school degree in Engineering principles or a suitable combination of education and work experience.
- 2 or more years of experience in technical service, field service, repair, or customer service.
- Strong electrical and computer systems experience and high level of diagnostic skills.
- Previous experience with robotics, lasers, automation systems, or mechatronics.
- Previous experience with hand tools and measurement tools.
- Strong problem-solving and excellent organization skills.
Travel Requirements
Must be located within 45 minutes of a major international airport and be willing to travel extensively, up to 100%, to regional, national, and international locations.
