Job Description

Job Title: Compliance Consultant

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Compliance Consultant to join our team at Manulife. As a Compliance Consultant, you will be responsible for supporting the effective operation of our regulatory compliance management program, including the maintenance of all relevant regulatory compliance management records, risk and control assessments, evidence of controls, compliance issues and associated corrective action plans.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Regulatory Compliance: Provide strategic support and direction to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, including reviewing and interpreting legislation and documenting requirements in plain language.
  • Compliance Program Management: Support the maintenance of all relevant regulatory compliance management records, risk and control assessments, evidence of controls, compliance issues and associated corrective action plans.
  • Regulatory Relations: Interact with regulators and stakeholders to ensure efficient handling of escalated licensing issues and maintain collaborative relations.
  • Training and Education: Provide training to business partners on legislative requirements and regulatory compliance management concepts, including first, second, and third line of defense.
  • Process Improvement: Review business processes, policies, training, and documentation to meet current regulatory requirements.

Requirements:

  • Compliance Expertise: Specialized compliance expertise and/or legal experience working in financial services.
  • Literacy and Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to simplify complicated messages.
  • Teamwork and Adaptability: Proven interpersonal, negotiation, and relationship management skills, with the ability to work with fluid and changing accountabilities.
  • Technical Skills: Ability to use LAN and PC applications, including Windows, Archer, Microsoft Office, Excel, AWD.

Salary Range: $67,275.00 CAD - $112,125.00 CAD
