At NearSource Technologies, we're seeking a highly skilled Senior Backend Developer to join our dynamic team. As a key member of our team, you'll have the opportunity to shape innovative solutions and drive technological excellence on a multinational Fortune 500 project in Canada.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and Development: Design, code, test, debug, and document new and existing components to meet business, quality, and operational needs.
  • Code Quality and Review: Build high-quality code following unit testing and test-driven development practices, and participate in code and document reviews to mentor the team on best practices.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with peer organizations, DevOps, and support teams on technical issues, providing guidance as needed, and interpret business needs to translate them into technical requirements and accurate estimates.
  • Technical Expertise: Apply deep technical expertise to solve challenging programming and design problems, and focus on scalability, security, and availability across all applications and processes.
  • Architecture and Roadmap: Contribute to the design and architecture of secure, scalable, and maintainable software, and assist in risk identification and develop risk mitigation strategies related to the architecture.
Requirements:
  • Education: BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience: 8+ years of experience in developing scalable, microservice, event-driven software applications.
  • Technical Skills: Practical experience building RESTful APIs using NodeJS and Java, strong experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS), and extensive experience with event streaming and reactive programming using AWS or open-source equivalents.
  • Soft Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, and passion for open-source technologies.
