Role Overview

KPMG Canada is seeking an experienced Digital Forensic Investigator Lead to join our Forensic Technology practice based in the GTA. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading digital forensic investigations and cyber security breach investigations.

About the Role

We are looking for a talented individual with 6+ years of experience in information security, conducting forensic investigations or cyber security breach investigations. You should have a strong understanding of Microsoft and Apple OS structure and artifacts, as well as file systems including FAT, FAT32, NTFS, HFS, and HFS+. Experience working with mobile device preservation and analysis software, such as Cellebrite, Oxygen, or other similar tools, is highly desirable.

Responsibilities
  • Lead digital forensic investigations and cyber security breach investigations
  • Plan and supervise a team of forensic technology professionals to execute on the identification, acquisition, processing, and analysis of digital information
  • Work closely with peers in e-discovery and cyber security practices to provide a solid controls-based approach to evidence collection
  • Develop and deliver presentations, lead interviews, and facilitate client workshops
Requirements
  • 6+ years of experience in information security, conducting forensic investigations or cyber security breach investigations
  • Minimum two (2) years of experience in advisory or external consulting capacity
  • Strong understanding of Microsoft and Apple OS structure and artifacts
  • Experience working with mobile device preservation and analysis software, such as Cellebrite, Oxygen, or other similar tools
  • Fluency working with at least one of the following software tools: Encase, Axiom, X-Ways, FTK, IEF
  • Excellent research and analytical skills, with ability to clearly and articulately identify and define problems and develop creative solutions to address client needs
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal), including ability to develop and deliver presentations, lead interviews, and facilitate client workshops
