Senior Manager, Forensic Investigations and Digital Evidence

Job Summary
The Toronto-Dominion Bank (Canada) is seeking a highly skilled Senior Manager, Forensic Investigations and Digital Evidence to join our team. As a key member of our Cyber Security Operations team, you will be responsible for leading complex and sensitive investigations, supervising a team of professionals, and managing digital forensic efforts.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise a team of highly skilled professionals who conduct complex and sensitive investigations, across North America.
- Manage assigned digital forensic efforts in support of eDiscovery requests, employee investigations, and IT security incident response.
- Collect, process, preserve, and analyze data from electronic data sources, including laptop and desktop computers, servers, and mobile devices.
- Work with Cyber Security Operations, Global Security & Investigations, Legal, Human Resources, Privacy, Risk, and external law enforcement to forensically collect and analyze digital evidence.
- Research, evaluate, develop, test, and apply new methodologies for analyzing digital evidence to reduce the risk of exposure to TD Bank.
- Support the development of procedures and standards and deliver advice, direction, and education to TD management and staff.
Requirements
- Supervise cyber investigative staff and assign investigative cases from various referral sources.
- Provide regular feedback, guidance, and consultation to cyber investigative staff, offering direction and expertise to further an investigation.
- Ensure that all cyber investigative referrals are properly investigated and managed in a professional and consistent manner relative to the regional investigative standards, protocol, and aging standards.
- Supervise proactive, complex, high-profile, and sensitive cyber investigations with the goal of directing cases to a successful conclusion and providing timely root cause findings to business and functional partners.
- Provide regular feedback, guidance, and consultation to cyber investigative staff, offering direction and expertise to further an investigation.
- Focus on operational efficiency to ensure the Forensic Investigations & Digital Evidence team is leveraging tools and processes that reduce redundancy and improve capacity.
- Respond to internal business units to investigate simple or complex, sensitive, or urgent matters, usually within minimal time frames.
- Lead or manage a team(s) providing technical and non-technical assistance to investigative personnel on digital evidence matters using a full range of investigative tools and processes in accordance with applicable laws, policies, guidelines, regulations, and procedures.
- Responsible for the management oversight of the team's computer forensic lab and network infrastructure.
- At least 5 years of experience in digital forensics, incident response, or cyber investigative analysis.
- At least 5 years of experience with forensic preservation, collection, and analysis of operating systems, e-mail systems, and mobile devices.
- Understanding of digital forensic principles, methodologies, and techniques, including experience using digital forensic tools.
- Ability to interpret digital evidence matters in a way understandable to business and non-technical people.
- Knowledge of Data Loss Prevention tools and conducting DLP-related investigations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation, organization, leadership, and planning skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage crisis and emergency incidents.
- Ability to handle conflict effectively, by overcoming differences of opinion and finding common ground.
- Managing multiple cases and prioritizing workload.
- Self-starter, strategic thinker, negotiator, and consensus builder, proven ability to satisfactorily manage competing priorities.
- Evaluates data and courses of action to reach logical, pragmatic decisions.
- Understanding of operating systems (Windows, Linux, and OSX).
- Knowledge of network-based services and client/server applications.
- Knowledge of enterprise systems and infrastructure.
- Bachelor's Degree-BA/BS.
- BA or BS in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. Master's degree a plus.
- 10+ years of experience with Insider Threat or Data Loss Prevention programs, incident management, or investigative programs and the ability to identify anomalous activities and associated risks.
- 5+ years of experience developing and communicating recommendations to non-technical business areas.
- 5+ years of experience managing a forensic team and lab.
- Digital Forensic and Incident Response Certifications such as GCFE, GCFA, CHFI, CCE, CFC, EnCE, CFCE, CEH, CISSP, CND, eDiscovery certificate a plus.
- Familiarity with network architecture and security infrastructure placement.
- Familiarity with security tools such as Anti-Virus, SEIM systems, and Data Loss Prevention tools.
- Ability to handle conflict effectively, by overcoming differences of opinion and finding common ground.
- Can evaluate data and courses of action to reach logical, pragmatic decisions.
- Applies innovation and creativity to problem-solving.
- Closed working relationship with peers in Cyber Security Operations, Insider Protect, GSI, Legal, Privacy, and HR.
- Frequent interaction with senior executives in Corporate Office and all Business Groups.
