About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and reliable individual to join our Playland Maintenance Team as a Technician I. The successful candidate will be responsible for completing general labour tasks, assisting with ride repairs, and supporting set up and tear down of the Playland grounds, rides, and attractions.
Job Overview
- This is a full-time position with a competitive compensation package, including a salary range of $27.44 per hour (PG1A) and benefits enrollment.
- The successful candidate will work in a fast-paced environment, collaborating with a team of experienced professionals to ensure the safe operation of Playland's rides and attractions.
- A valid Class 5 BC Driver's License and a clean driving record are mandatory requirements for this position.
- The ideal candidate will possess mechanical aptitude, handyperson skills, and excellent problem-solving abilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Complete general labour tasks, including cleaning, gardening, painting, and carpentry.
- Assist with ride repairs and maintenance, working under supervision where necessary.
- Operate mobile equipment, such as forklifts, scissor lifts, and zoom booms, as required.
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment, adhering to all safety protocols and regulations.
- Conduct daily ride and vehicle inspections, reporting any deficiencies found.
- Perform other related duties as required by the team or management.
Requirements
- Minimum 1-2 years of general mechanical experience, with a focus on handyperson skills.
- Experience performing general labour duties, including cleaning, gardening, and painting.
- A valid Class 5 BC Driver's License and a clean driving record are mandatory requirements.
- Ability to work at heights (up to 250 feet), in awkward positions, and lifting heavy equipment.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to understand and execute written and oral English instructions.
- Ability to work various rotating shifts, evenings, weekends, and holidays, and work outdoors in all weather conditions.
