Opportunity Overview

We are seeking an experienced Electric Maintenance Technician to join our team in Vancouver, Canada. As a key member of our field service team, you will be responsible for performing inspections, maintenance, and repairs on electric overhead traveling cranes and hoists at customer locations.

Salary Information

The estimated annual salary for this position is between $73,500 and $98,400, based on skills and experience. Additionally, benefits include company truck or vehicle, RRSP match, standard benefits (dental, vision, medical), profit sharing, paid holidays/vacation, personal emergency leaves, meals allowances/uniforms, learning development programs, short and long-term disability plans, and referral bonus program.

Job Responsibilities

  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on electric overhead traveling cranes and hoists to ensure optimal performance and safety.
  • Conduct thorough electrical, mechanical, structural, and electronic troubleshooting to identify equipment malfunctions and implement necessary repairs.
  • Document all activities, including inspections, maintenance, and repairs, using established digital tools and obtaining customer signatures as required.
  • Maintain excellent communication with the service office and assigned coordinator, adhering to established practices and protocols.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant CSA, OSHA, ANSI, CMAA, HMI, and other industry standards and regulations.
  • Participate in monthly safety meetings and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the organization.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor or manager.

Requirements and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you should possess:

  • A recognized trade qualification as a Journeyman Electrician, Journeyman Millwright, or equivalent qualification/experience in terms of skills and knowledge.
  • A minimum of 1 year of experience in the field, depending on provincial legislative requirements and CSA standards.
  • A valid driver's license and a good driving record.
  • The ability to work at heights, climb ladders, and walkways safely.
  • Excellent computer, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong customer interaction and relationship-building skills.
  • The ability to work overtime or as required by customer operations.
