Job Summary

Aecon is seeking a highly skilled Field Review Engineer to join our team. As a Field Review Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring that our construction projects meet the highest standards of quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct site inspections to verify that construction meets the technical requirements of the contract.
  • Review inspection and testing reports for MSE walls.
  • Verify that design changes have been approved and signed by the Design Engineer.
  • Ensure that construction proceeds in accordance with the contract provisions.
  • Record observations, deficiencies, and changed conditions encountered during site visits.
  • Identify and report non-conformance work.
  • Stamp certificates indicating that work was built according to designs, including any design changes.
  • Assure that MSE wall construction substantially conforms to detailed designs and technical requirements.
  • Authenticate certificates stating that construction has been built in accordance with detailed designs and technical requirements.

Requirements

  • Professional Engineer with a minimum of 5 years' experience in MSE wall construction.
  • Professional Engineer Designation in Alberta.
  • Understanding of rules and regulations on a construction site, particularly with MSE wall construction.
  • Experience working on large, complex civil infrastructure projects.
  • Experience working with public, department of transportation clients.
  • Experience and knowledge with internationally recognized codes and standards.
  • Experience interfacing with project owners.
  • Knowledge using computer technology (i.e., Microsoft Office, AutoCAD).
  • Flexible and well-organized, detail-oriented, and multi-tasked.
  • Strong communication skills, written and oral.
  • Excellent ability to clearly explain advanced technical issues in a manner that is easily understood.
  • Strong sense of personal responsibility and accountability for delivering high-quality work.
