Job Summary

We are seeking highly skilled and experienced Security Professionals to join our team as Part-time and Casual Security Personnel. As a Security Officer, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service and ensuring the safety and security of our clients, tenants, and patrons.

Key Responsibilities
  • Customer Service: Provide exceptional customer service and assistance to clients, tenants, and patrons.
  • Reporting: Write clear and detailed reports, including incident, emergency, liability, and day-to-day reports.
  • Security and Safety: Watch for and report irregularities, such as security breaches, facility and safety hazards, and emergency situations, and contact emergency responders as required.
  • First Aid and Medical Response: Provide first aid and medical response when required to any person(s).
  • Foot Patrols: Perform regular foot patrols to ensure personnel, building, and equipment security.
  • Communication: Utilize two-way radios and computer applications to communicate site activities.
  • Crowd Control: Exercise crowd control and evict trespassers.
Core Competencies
  • Interpersonal and Communication Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Customer Service Skills: Excellent customer service skills.
  • Non-Violent Crisis Intervention and De-Escalation Techniques: A strong working knowledge of non-violent crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques.
  • Observational Skills: Strong observational skills.
  • Decision-Making: Ability to make immediate decisions, while maintaining composure in emergency response situations with minimal supervision.
Job Requirements
  • Security Experience: 6 months of security experience is an asset, and/or 6 months of customer experience is an asset.
  • Security License: Valid security license is required.
  • First Aid Certification: Valid OFA 1 or higher is an asset.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
  • Physical Fitness: Ability to walk for prolonged hours (most sites).
  • Driver's License: Class 5 or Class 7 N BC driving license is an asset for Mobile Patrol.
