Job Summary

BC Ferries is embarking on a transformative journey to improve customer experiences and employee satisfaction while maintaining affordability and reliability. As a key enabler of this journey, technology plays a crucial role in driving business growth and profitability. We are seeking an experienced IT professional with a strategic business mind to join our IT Strategy team.


Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement IT strategies and initiatives that align with corporate objectives.
  • Provide strategic input into business decisions, taking a structured data-driven approach while building consensus.
  • Translate IT strategic objectives into performance metrics and actionable plans.
  • Build strategic partnerships across the organization with business sponsors and executive stakeholders to ensure high-value technology solutions.
  • Determine the feasibility of technology projects and initiatives, and lead the preparation of IT project proposals in alignment with corporate priorities.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the successful execution of technology transformation initiatives that align with business goals and priorities.
  • Contribute to IT strategic and solutions/program roadmaps, supporting various project delivery teams to collaborate on the design aspects that meet the needs of users.
  • Support and mentor team members in their efforts to implement technology in accordance with the roadmap.
  • Conduct market and competitive research to identify broader business trends and assumptions that may affect the IT strategy.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will be an empowering leader who is calm, strategic, and tactical under pressure. You will have a proven track record in driving large-scale technological change initiatives and be a relationship-builder with experience leading strategy management and executive strategy formulation and decision-making. You will have demonstrated experience in business strategy formulation, IT strategy formulation, business scenario development, and innovation.


What We Offer

BC Ferries is committed to providing a supportive and inclusive work environment. We offer a competitive salary range of $121,800 to $152,200 per annum, with the starting salary determined based on the successful candidate's knowledge, experience, and internal equity. We also offer opportunities for professional growth and development.
