As a key member of the Risk Management Centre of Excellence, you will be responsible for managing risk activities for Retail Advice and Solutions (RAS) and serving as a primary point of contact for Canadian leaders and second line of defence stakeholders to identify, assess and manage operational risks within the portfolio.

Key Accountabilities:
  • Conduct risk assessments to measure risk exposures, identify internal control weaknesses, and improve the control environment to minimize the risk of loss events.
  • Lead the roll-out of new/changed risk and compliance requirements by identifying the impact to assigned business areas and supporting business partners in the design and maintenance of programs to meet these requirements.
  • Provide risk consulting expertise and lead risk reviews for key business projects, digital initiatives, and process changes.
  • Develop recommendations on effective control design and operational risk management best practices based on analysis of issues and implications for the business.
  • Present operational risk findings and recommendations at monthly Risk Steering Committees with internal clients.
  • Provide insightful and valuable operational risk analysis and reporting to the risk leadership team and the business.
  • Maintain strong/effective working relationships with all business partners.
  • Support reviews conducted by Internal Audit and Compliance as well as external auditors and regulators.
  • Lead and/or coach Operational Risk Consultant(s) assigned to portfolio.
Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • Bachelor's degree in Risk Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in risk management, preferably within the security dealer or financial service industry.
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry standards related to security dealer.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders.
  • Professional certifications such as PRM (Professional Risk Manager) or CSI (Canadian Securities Courses).
