Community Developer Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled Community Developer to join our team at Legal Aid Ontario. As a Community Developer, you will play a key role in engaging with low-income communities in Ottawa, identifying emerging issues, and developing effective responses.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement community initiatives, in collaboration with legal clinic staff and community partners
  • Identify emerging community issues and develop appropriate responses
  • Build and maintain relationships with community agencies, organizations, and individuals
  • Provide information, strategic advice, and problem-solving resources to the community
  • Develop programs, education events, written materials, and social media resources
  • Prepare reports on community-based initiatives
  • Assist in recruitment, training, and supervision of students and volunteers
Requirements:
  • Minimum three years of experience with community-based organizations
  • Superior skills in community engagement, outreach, partnership, and group development
  • Strong knowledge of community services in Ottawa
  • Excellent organizational, writing, and communication skills
  • Strong computer skills and experience with social media
  • Capacity to work in French is preferred
