Role Summary: Reporting directly to the Director of Communications, Marketing, and Fundraising, the Lead Specialist will implement a cohesive communications strategy across various traditional and digital channels. This position is essential in promoting Carefor's mission and services effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Formulate and execute a detailed fundraising strategy and annual operational plan to achieve regional fundraising objectives in support of Carefor's programs and services.
  • Create and manage integrated marketing and communication campaigns targeting external audiences through diverse platforms including advertising, direct marketing, and social media.
  • Identify and develop compelling narratives from clients, care-partners, staff, and volunteers for use in communications and fundraising initiatives.
  • In alignment with organizational guidelines, enhance the organization's profile by:
    • Crafting engaging content for all digital and social media channels.
    • Overseeing the creation, production, and editing of printed materials.
    • Engaging with local media through press releases and managing media inquiries.
  • Maintain a comprehensive prospect list and collaborate with Regional Council members to identify and nurture potential and existing donors.
  • Monitor and report on progress towards fundraising targets.
  • Coordinate with vendors to support communications and fundraising efforts.
  • Develop and manage budgets effectively.
  • Organize and oversee fundraising events.
  • Secure and manage sponsorships, both in-kind and monetary.
  • Maintain accurate records of donations and update the donor database accordingly.

Qualifications:

  • A post-secondary degree in communications or a related discipline (e.g., marketing, journalism, or fundraising).
  • Certification as a Fund-Raising Executive is advantageous.
  • A minimum of three years of experience in leading communication initiatives and executing social media campaigns.
  • Experience in fundraising is preferred.
  • Familiarity with coordinating volunteer efforts for fundraising activities is a plus.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop, InDesign, and Premiere Pro.
  • Experience in video production is beneficial.
  • Exceptional writing and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities.
  • Bilingualism (English/French) is an asset.
  • Flexibility to work from home with the possibility of office attendance as required.
