IT Security Specialist

Family and Children's Services Niagara is seeking a highly skilled IT Security Administrator to join our team. As a key member of our IT department, you will be responsible for ensuring the security and integrity of our IT systems and data.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and implement a comprehensive cybersecurity governance program, including security policies, procedures, and risk management frameworks.
- Monitor networks and systems to detect security threats and provide specialist technology solutions and expertise in the cybersecurity field.
- Conduct vulnerability scans, penetration tests, and threat risk assessments to identify and mitigate potential security risks.
- Provide maintenance, support, and troubleshooting for Microsoft 365, servers, Azure Cloud, VMWare, switches, firewalls, computers, mobile devices, and peripherals.
- Manage Windows Servers and ensure their availability, integrity, and security, including installation and system recovery.
- Apply OS patches and upgrades on a regular basis and upgrade administrative tools and utilities.
- Monitor all PCs, Servers, and Mobile Devices to ensure security and compliance with agency policies and standards.
- Contribute to and maintain IT system standards.
- Degree or diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related studies.
- Additional 3 years of IT Security and networking-related experience required.
- Experience with Microsoft security solutions, computer network penetration testing, and techniques.
- Ability to identify and mitigate network, web application, and software development vulnerabilities.
- Working knowledge of IT Compliance, Standards, and Frameworks.
- Experience with incident response, forensic analysis, and log file analysis.
- Knowledge of Windows server OS, Linux/UNIX Operating Systems, and command-line tools.
- Experience with M365, VMware Suite, and networking.
The successful candidate will work in a normal office environment with occasional travel to FACS sites or within the region. Long periods of sitting and computer/phone use are expected.
