Job Description

Job Title: Network Operations Supervisor

Job Summary:

The Halton District School Board is seeking a highly skilled Network Operations Supervisor to join our team. As a key member of our IT department, you will be responsible for planning, designing, implementing, and maintaining our network infrastructure to ensure seamless communication across the board.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and troubleshoot network issues to ensure minimal downtime and optimal performance.
  • Design and implement network infrastructure upgrades to meet the evolving needs of the board.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement and enhance network solutions.
  • Develop and maintain network documentation, including configuration and connectivity information.
  • Perform regular backups of critical network components.
  • Ensure asset and lifecycle management of network devices and configurations.
  • Develop and enforce configuration and change management processes to ensure awareness, approval, and success of changes made to the network infrastructure.
  • Work with external vendors and service providers to identify and resolve issues with the board's current network architecture.
  • Collaborate with the Information Services Security Operations team to implement new network-oriented security protocols.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
  • Minimum 7 years of relevant work experience in network operations and management.
  • Cisco Certified Networking Professional (CCNP) or equivalent certification.
  • ISC2 - Certified Cloud Security Professional (CCSP) or equivalent certification.
  • Enterprise-level network design and architecture experience.
  • Leadership and project management skills.
  • Excellent customer relations and communication skills.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Masters in Computer Science or related field.
  • Minimum 8 years of relevant work experience with 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE) or equivalent certification.
  • Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) or equivalent certification.
  • Fortinet Network Security Expert (NSE) 5 certification.
