Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Fire and Explosion Engineer to join our Claims Department. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in supporting our growth by investigating the cause and origin of losses.

Key Responsibilities
  • Recreate the sequence of events that led to the loss and validate these steps with up-to-date scientific knowledge.
  • Apply the scientific method to identify the cause of losses by validating assumptions and testing scenarios as required.
  • Contribute technical expertise to help resolve disputes during claims.
  • Participate in joint analysis of specimens related to the cause of claims.
  • Meet with policyholders to fully understand the circumstances surrounding their claim.
  • Investigate loss sites to determine the cause and circumstances of fires.
  • Check for explosion, equipment electrical failure, malpractice, etc.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical or mechanical engineering or relevant applied sciences.
  • At least five years of experience in a related field.
  • Member in good standing of a professional order in the relevant scientific field.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills to explain the cause and origin of losses.
  • Experience in insurance and as an expert before the courts is a major asset.
