About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Forensic Engineer, Fire and Explosion to join our Claims Department. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in supporting our growth and helping us better control claims management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Investigate the cause and origin of losses, using your expertise in fire and explosion to determine the root cause of damage.
  • Recreate the sequence of events that led to the loss, validating your findings with up-to-date scientific knowledge.
  • Produce detailed reports on your findings, including abridged and detailed reports for more significant losses.
  • Testify in court to present your expert opinion, sharing your knowledge and expertise with the court.
Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in electrical or mechanical engineering or a relevant applied science, with at least five years of experience.
  • Membership in a professional order in the relevant scientific field.
  • Strong technical knowledge of buildings, construction methods, heat transfer, and the laws governing fire propagation.
Desired Skills
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to explain complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Experience in insurance and as an expert before the courts would be a major asset.
Certification
  • Candidate must hold or be able to obtain CFI, CFEI, CFVI or WETT certification.
